No. We're more than a step challenge.
Unlike step challenge apps and step counter apps - whether it’s Movespring, Yumuuv or Virgin Pulse - our automated and integrated platform means that activities are automatically pulled from wearables and converted to points behind the scenes, so there are no clunky manual conversions to steps for users. For users without a wearable, our next-gen GPS tracker is available as well as the option to manually input.
This is intentional as it means that those who can’t or don’t do steps can still take part, and being activity based makes it way more interesting.
Staff can choose how to get active – there are 30+ activities to choose from walking (think a walk around the block on your lunchbreak measured in kms), to cycling, to yoga, to wheelchair activities, to pickleball and so on. The activities generate points, which are weighted to level the playing field.
The benefits of a planned activity include helping to clear the mind rather than focussing on tracking boring steps from the sofa to the fridge. In the context of workplace challenges, everyday steps are just not motivational, interesting or inclusive in our humble opinion.
We pride ourselves on reaching and motivating everyone in your organisation. It’s a fact that over 60% of your organisation will not be interested in steps or manual conversions – whether they be cyclists, swimmers, dancers or whatever. This therefore alienates and excludes over half of your organisation from the off.
Also, as above, not everyone can ‘step’ (including people with disabilities). As an activity-based product, GoJoe is also music to the ears of the Strava community.
We enable people to log activities in three ways: via a wearable, via our in-app tracker or manually input (with controls around cheating). This captures everyone.
Yes. Our app serves content to all premium users (including those engaging in a one-off challenge or our annual platform), including across Move, Fuel, Rest and Feel. This includes mental health, meditation, financial, sleep and other content. We partner with the world’s best and coolest providers to provide content that is engaging and useful, not boring or corporate.
Quite a few ways, actually. As above, GoJoe is unique in that - unlike step challenge apps and step counter apps such as Movespring, Yumuuv or Virgin Pulse - we are not interested in meaningless steps from the sofa to the fridge. We are about getting people active, moving and away from their desks. Everyday steps are not motivational, interesting or inclusive.
We also know that users don’t like doing manual conversions. It hurts engagement. Whilst the ability to manually log an activity is important (e.g. to enable swimmers to log swims without a waterproof wearable), the primary ways of logging to our app are through wearables or our in-app tracker.
Another huge USP for GoJoe is how we are an app for both consumers and employees, i.e. for work and play. Unlike employee engagement platforms and step challenge apps, we don’t boot your employees out of our app after a challenge finishes. Users can create join or explore challenges with friends, family, our global community of joes and athletes, or simply use it as an everyday wellbeing tool.
Finally, we also serve all year-round content from athletes, experts and PTs across all pillars of wellbeing (recorded workouts, meditation, financial wellbeing). This content is hyper-engaging and relevant, and keeps people coming back to our app all year round.
We provide two pricing options for clients: fixed fee and usage-based.
The fixed fee option gives certainty on budgets and – much like other platforms like Yumuuv, Movespring and Big Team Challenge– entails you buying a fixed number of licences. Given that we know not all of your workforce will engage in a challenge, this is usually recommended to be 50% of the ‘audience size’ (i.e. the number of employees you will be inviting to the challenge). We operate a price per head model, which varies depending on various factors such as organisation size, whether single-sign on is required, the extent to which GoJoe gets involved in managing or helping with the challenge and so on.
Our usage-based pricing option gives you flexibility and comfort on engagement. If no-one engages, you don’t pay. We’re able to offer this because of the genuinely huge engagement that our app generates, and it is unique to the industry. We back our product. This model is a higher cost per head to reflect the time and resource we expend in setting up a challenge, i.e. with no guarantee clients will communicate the challenge internally.
All of our licences not only include access to a challenge, but also all of the other benefits of premium including our expert, PT and athlete content, meditation audios, wellbeing content and everything else.
We built GoJoe from the bottom up, with constant feedback loops from end users as opposed to building something for the workplace wellbeing world. The personalisation, humour and innovation of our product means that people of all ages and demographics want to use it, day in day out.
It’s not good enough in this day and age to serve step challenges, which are only of interest to a small cohort of an organisation and which give a poor user experience. Our data – built up over 3 years with some of the world’s biggest companies – overwhelmingly shows that engagement levels actually increase throughout a challenge (every time), and in benchmarking ourselves against competitors, we are told that engagement is up to x5 higher.
Finally – even if you don’t use GoJoe, always check under the hood for how a supplier defines ‘engagement’. One app open does not mean they’re engaged. Ask for deeper data on this, and look for sustained engagement and – ideally – longer term impact metrics. It’s been proven that high engagement leads to less employee churn, more positive culture, higher ROI and an increased employee sentiment towards their employer.
GoJoe is the only social fitness app for work and play.
We do two things: innovative, team-based activity challenges (which pull across activities and convert them automatically to weighted points, rather than manual conversions to steps), and an all-year round employee engagement app which contains content from all pillars of wellbeing from our roster of professional athletes, PTs and experts.
We believe that if a product is good enough, people will use it. Whether in or out of work, and whether with friends, family, colleagues or our global community of users. For work and play.
